Hermitage is one of the greatest museums in the world, was founded in 1764. Its collection includes more than 2.7 million works of art, with masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Rodin, Rembrandt, Rubens, as well as French Impressionist painters. There are opened the Gala Halls and antique rooms of the Winter Palace, residence of Russian emperors. The Winter Palace was built in the eighteenth century with Russian Baroque style by architect Rastrelli. From the Ambassadors stairs begin two enfilades of Gala Halls. The main enfilade includes the Great Hall of Marshals Field, the Ministry Cabinet, the Hall of Georgio or Great Hall of the Throne Room, the church and Apollo. The tsar’s rooms include the Green Dining Room, Rotunda, the Arab Chambers, the Small Dining Room, and the Malachite Room. The Neva enfilade has the Concert Hall, the Grand Palace, the Oval Room and the Gallery of Peter.
